The rise of generative AI has given birth to a new wave of filmmakers and digital actors, but according to founders Giorgi Khatiashvili and Tengo Tadumadze, the industry is missing a foundation.
Based in London, Giorgi and Tengo are building Talesbox to provide the infrastructure that the new medium desperately needs.
The Problem: A Fragmented Industry
For the founders, the current state of AI filmmaking is full of potential but lacks cohesion. They view the existing creation tools as essential partners that help storytellers create their films, but they identify a critical gap: the lack of a unified home for distribution, audience connection, growth, and cinematic identity.
"TalesBox solves the main structural problem in AI filmmaking: there is still no real ecosystem built specifically for AI films, AI storytellers, and digital actors," the founders explain. "Some platforms already exist, but they are not designed for cinematic storytelling."
They describe a landscape where content is scattered and ephemeral. "Today the entire space is fragmented. Creators make films across different tools and have no central home for their work. Digital actors have no place to build a real filmography or career identity. Audiences have nowhere to follow the storytellers they care about."
Ultimately, Giorgi and Tengo see a gap in the market for industry standards: "There is no AI version of IMDb, no AI-native Netflix, and no studio system that connects all of them."
The Solution: A Unified Home for Storytellers
To solve this, the team isn't just building a video host; they are building a "cinematic ecosystem." The goal is to replicate the structures of traditional Hollywood for the digital age.
"TalesBox brings everything together in one cinematic ecosystem where films have a home, actors have an identity, and audiences finally have a place to discover, follow, and watch the stories they care about," says the team.
The approach comes from lived experience. Both founders have spent two years deeply involved in the creative GenAI space. "We are active members of the international AI creative community and understand the industry’s challenges and gaps firsthand," they note, adding that their background in building tech startups helps them "identify the right solutions to real problems."
The "Right People" Create Momentum
With the platform officially launched and the Early Bird phase concluded, Talesbox is already gaining significant traction. In just the first two weeks, more than 60 films have been uploaded to the site, offering an accurate picture of the community's appetite for a dedicated home.
However, when reflecting on the journey, the founders credit their success not to the technology itself, but to the team behind it.
"There were many turning points, but the one that truly changed everything was deciding to build TalesBox with the team we have now," they reflect.
For other founders, they offer this insight on why that decision mattered more than any specific feature: "Ideas evolve, products pivot, strategies shift, but the right people create the momentum that makes all of that possible. That decision shaped everything that came after."
